Lift Maintenance Assistant

Requisites
Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions should be expected as work will, on most occasions, occur outdoors.

• The schedule may require a work period over 40 hours per week at times.
Description

The Lift Maintenance Assistant will support the Lift Operations Supervisor to pre-season prep of lifts as well as assist with the startup and shut down of the lifts for daily operations. Other mechanical procedures requiring specialized training will be performed under supervision as required.

Execute routine lift checks for any existing or potential problems. This includes:

  • o Visually check chairs and towers.
    o Line checks: check sheaves for problems such as bad bearings, liner wear, flat spots, and so forth.
    o Drive checks: check all machinery and mechanical parts of the drive station, including fluid levels, brake pads, hoses, and so forth.
    o Return checks: check carriage, guide sheaves, counterweight cables, height of counterweight, return wheel and liner.
    o Necessary minor adjustments, preventive maintenance, and repair or replace worn or broken parts.
    o When mechanical problems are reported, locate and diagnose problems, and plan and perform necessary repairs, or report major problems to supervisor.
  • Ensure all lift areas are maintained to code and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Assist in emergency situations.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a safe, quality, and timely manner.
  • Use PPE as required.
  • Complete all log sheets accurately, and in a timely manner.
